My favorite flower....the sweet violet. Can't you smell them? Don't you want to touch your computer screen and feel how soft and delicate they are? I will be going to my son's home today and will sit on his planter wall and smell them with my granddaughter Sachiko.....violets are her favorite flower too......blooming or not the leaves carry the scent as well.

Yummy! They smell like candy. Have a blast with the young'ns. Who probably smell like candy too.

I started with a volunteer violet plant in the front yard many years ago and through their own devices and some encouragement from me I have a large patch now. They start blooming at the end of December and bloom into March. So delightful.

I love violets. They grow all over my flower beds and in many places they shouldn't!

I heard Bob Dylan on BBC radio 6 talking about violets, maybe I've missed something here. Their name is so close to violent and yet they are so far from it - I lke that.

Hope you're well. I start back to school tomorrow, it's been half term break here. I was going to blog about my holiday but I got distracted by other stuff.

I went to California once - LA, Fresno and San Francisco on a school trip. I loved it.

Hey! Violets are some of my favorite flowers, too. I'm not sure which came first: My love of the flower or my name!
