Birds do it...Bees do it...even...

...Idaho moths do it! Steve was hanging newly filled hummingbird feeders on the balcony when he saw something move under the clanger (my techie word for the thing that makes the chimes sing) on the chimes. This is what he discovered when he lifted it up. We suggested they get a room, but I guess in the moth world this is about as private as it gets. I don't have a clue as to the name of these beauties.....but they are all over the place at the moment probably making babies like crazy.

Beautiful but they creeped me out until I turned them upside down and could see they really are moths. I saw little grinning faces and eyes - is this a rorschach test I failed?

It won't be long before you hear the pitter-patter of catterpillar feet.
..say that 5 times real fast!

Wonderful pics. We had a butterfly pavilion and I think I caught butterfly action once. Hard to tell with bugs...

I've never seen moths like these. Beautiful markings on the wings.

Those are beautiful...reminds me of the luna moths we have around here. I'm still trying to execute sling's tongue twister.

Lets hope that pretty as they are their catepillars are friendly little grubs - and not some exotic and ravenous new creature which eats the tiles off your roof....
