I was unfaithful.

Safeway is either out of Cherry Cordials or they never had them. Either way, when I went to pick up my prescriptions last Tuesday, no Cherry Cordials to replace the two bags I'd managed to eat in a week. While frantically searching for the Cordials I happened to notice these; Hershey's Bliss with raspberry melt away centers. I bought two 8 oz. bags. They cost as much as the 18 oz. Cordials....but are 10 oz. less. I got gypped.

Because I wasn't sure how they would taste, I decided to share them with Steve. He was waiting in the car for me. I showed him one of the bags and sadly we both liked them. He did a good job of matching me bliss for bliss as we drove home.

Today we had to get out of this absolutely sad house so we drove to Coeur d Alene and went to Big Lots. Guess what they had......18 oz. bags of Cherry Cordials for 3 bucks a bag. I bought 4 bags. Steve doesn't particularly like them....good.

I found coconut creme kisses when I bought my last bag of cherry cordials. Needless to say, neither bag lasted very long. I now avoid the candy section all together.

I very seldom buy candy, but this week at the grocery, I bought a box of fudge and I am embarrassed to admit that I ate 3 pieces tonight.

It's been a sacrifice, but I have given up squash, turnips and bok choy so that I can eat chocolate, a calorie laden health food.

I'm not much of a candy person. The only stuff I really like is plain dark chocolate.

Now if they sold bite sized pieces of mashed potatoes in the candy aisle ... that would be my downfall.

Last weekend in Seattle I went to Trader Joe's and found some Meringue drops. They are delicious if you love meringue like I do. They are almost as good as my grandmother used to make. Not sticky but firm and melt in your mouth. I have seen the commercial for those Hershey Blisses. They look delicious.

At least you got to stock up on your Cordials. :-)

"...sadly we both liked them"

That's funny.

How do you stay so skinny?
I am on a Zitner's coconut egg craze as I am every time this year. Butter Krak is the name of the kind I like. I don't think they're nation wide, just for us lucky, fat easterners. :)

Wow, you really like your raspberry/chocolate combos, don't you? I'm more of a peanut butter girl myself, but I definitely can share in your passion for chocolate. *smiles*
