Stress relievers......to get over....

...losing my sweet dogie, holding our breath while waiting for a layoff to finish with Steve's company (he still has his job, thank you Dear Lord), thunder storms that scared the kitties into hiding for a whole day and scared the crap outta me, and almost hitting a tree while backing out of the garage (please, don't ask...it's embarrassing). So, here are my stress relievers in no particular order:

1. Digging in dirt
2. Washing the inside of the windows only
3. Watching all of the House Hunters episodes I have recorded
4. Cleaning the carpets upstairs
5. Taking pictures of gopher mounds....they are everywhere (According to a newspaper article, these might be voles...whatever they are I wish they'd move a million acres away)
6. Taking pictures of my daffodils....they are quite lovely
7. Looking for the first ferns of spring....none yet
8. Scratching the spider bite I got the day Penelope died is quite distracting and time consuming

See....looks nasty and that must have been one angry spider.

I don't know if I believe in the spirit world....I have been waiting decades for my mom and dad to come back in some way....you know, a sign that they are with me, because we have some unresolved issues...but.....if there are spirits Penelope and Charlie will be back and I will see them both trotting up the long trail, tails and noses in the air, looking back to be sure we are behind them. I miss Penny more than I can tell you.

That is quite a spider bite! When did it happen? I hope it improves rather than getting worse.
I do like digging in dirt. I always thought it was genetic from my farmer grandfather and great gf, but maybe it's just universal. Don't forget walking as a stress reliever, if you can do it without sweet Penny.

You might want to see the doc about that bite. It looks pretty irritated!

It will take a while before the terrible sting of losing Penny starts to fade. It won't ever go away, but it will become more bearable. {{{Hugs}}}

Sorry about losing your baby, and about the spider bite, and about the gophers. They are very hard to get rid of; I learned that from Caddyshack.

go to the dr. that's a nasty bite..in texas we have brown recluse spiders and you dont mess around with them..they eat holes into your body.
I can feel your pain..i have had the same pain..it's not going to go away for a long time..she held a place in your heart and that hole can't be replaced right away...

That's a SPIDER BITE? WOW! Must have been a huge giant evil spider with great big teeth and poisionous fangs and an extremely mean disposition to deliver a bite like that.

That bite looks horrible! I would have seen a doc about that one.

Yikes on that spider bite! I have one that itches like mad, but it's nothing like yours. And yes, those are voles, not gophers, which means they're not as hard to get rid of, but still... I am sure Penny and Charlie are both with you every single day. I miss you my friend!

Good grief Rosemary!! You told me you had a spider bite but I didnt' think it was THAT bad. You better get in to see Dr. M asap! It might be an alergic reaction. Like some people are alergic to bee stings.
You gave Penny a wonderful life while you had her. Just remember that she knows you still and always will love her. Same with Charlie!

that spider bite looks nasty, take care of it!

I am so sorry about your baby Penny! I know you miss her terribly.

I know it doesn't really compare, but we had to have our pet rat put down last week. She was 4 years old and in bad shape. I still look for her cage everyday in my sons room. She was really sweet. We miss her (and her sister who we had to have put down the month earlier). It is always so hard to say good bye to a pet. Hugs!

bite addressed: check
antibiotics and anti itch cream prescribed: check
arm looking better: check

Thanks for all of the concern. It wasn't a deadly bite but I must have really irritated that spider.

Good to know the spidey bite is looking better.
Rainy here today. Grey sky. And it's a long weekend too... so I'm cleaning the house in readiness for DIL's mum to visit when DIL produces our beautiful new grandchild.... only a few days to go!! Any bets on a boy or a girl?

I'm sure you do miss your girl Penelope...and I know it's not easy right now, but time will help heal your sadness...

And I'm SO glad you got that spider bite checked out--that looked horrible!!

Glad the spider bite is getting better. If you need to relieve any more stress you can come clean my house.
The pain of loss never ever really goes away. You just have to learn to live with it. Many hugs are still being sent your way.

i still miss my billy kitty soo very very much and it's been months. i look at photos of her but it makes me so sad. have you watched Marley and Me? Or I'm sure you've read it...I bawled bawled bawled. I'm reading the Art of Racing in the Rain right now. Have you read that one? I know you read a lot. Also about the love and relationship of a pet. I was having a solo lunch the other day and couldn't contain my tears in public while reading the 1st chapter of it.
So, how's your kindle treating you?

We know in our hearts when we adopt a dog, that we will probably outlive them.
Still,it's never easy to reconcile once they are gone.
Did you at least get to squish that ornery spider?

The biggest worry is the spider bite...do you have "white tailed spiders over there? Did you see the spider? If it was a white tailed one get help okay???? It looks nasty and no bite should look like this...

Holy hell, girl, that spider bite looks livid! Have you been to the doc?

I'm sorry you're missing Penelope so much. We do pay a high price for being pet parents ... it's worth it, but it's so hard.

I was sad yesterday because I automatically thought to give the strawberry tops to Cadbury, before I remembered. And that's been months.
