There's rosemary, that's for remembrance.

I love you a bushel and a peck.....

...a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck....a hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap....anyone remember this song??? If you do you're as old me.

Steve thinks we can save the world from starvation with this years garden crop of potatoes and peaches....and don't overlook those tomatoes!!! Aren't those potatoes the cutest things ever?

I'm thinking I'll have a Labor Day give-away and invite all the neighbors over to pick their own bushel and peck of whatever they like...weeds, or maybe dandelions, and they can fight over the two peaches left on the tree.

This is the smallest sunflower.....it is about 7 feet tall while the others are over 8 feet. The bees are having a love fest on them.
This is the first year in 11 years of living here full time that we have ever eaten anything from our garden....seriously, ever.

Congratulations on the potatoes especially. Wow! I have never grown potatoes but I remember my Grandfather did. So how do you know when to dig them up?

I'll bet the sunflowers are beautiful.

I think if I had a garden tomatoes would be at the top of my list. Well done!

Barb....who knows when to dig them up....we didn't. I think we planted late and that's why they are so small. When the plants turned yellow and looked shriveled we dug them up. There's always next year.

jp...the tomatoes were really tasty...there was one for me and one for Steve. Perfect crop.

a barrel and a heap and I'm talking in my sleep about you.

Maybe you can sell those potatoes to Frito-Lay or something if you can finish them all.

Those potatoes are really cute! I bet they'd be tasty in a crock pot with a roast! Mmmmm.

Even the smallest and worst veggie is great if you grew it!!

I DO remember that song. I used to sing it to my children and grandkids when they were small.

congratulations on the very successful garden! My parents grew an amazing garden every year in that harsh desert, but i've got the blackest thumb ever. I miss homegrown tomatoes and zucchini.

My dad used to save all the tiny baby potatoes for me, and I'd have them boiled with melted butter and mint....MMMMM yummy.
I've been harvesting tomatoes from the garden and I see sone zuccinis coming, love eating veggies that I have grown myself.

The Child and her grandpa sing that song to each other...it's been their special song ever since she was wee. So thank you for that and also, I would adore to have some of your delicious little potatoes because I have grown them before (but not lately) and what is true about home-grown tomatoes and their flavor is equally true of home-grown potatoes.

The baby new potatoes are really the only spuds worth eating. I make a creamy dill sauce for them, people nearly die from loving that dish : )

I haven't gardened since I was home with the boys for some years. Till now, and I still seem to have a green thumb, all I do is drop a seed and BOOM, I've got an over-achiever in the yard. No kidding, it's ridiculous how stuff produces in my yard.

I've got all of six tom plants and I can pick a 5 gallon basket everyday, I'm becoming quite afraid to go out there!

I cut down my peach tree though, I shoulna done it : (

I do know that "bushel and a peck" song!--and I'm only 37! *smiles* But I've seen the play "Guys and Dolls," so there you go.

Also, I want one of those peaches!--they look delish! :)
